Anna Leigh Ashford

Annaleigh Amanda Ashford (born April 14th, 1980) is an American actress, singer, and dancer. Her early Broadway performances are Wicked Legally Blonde & Hair. She was awarded the Tony Award for Best Featured actor in a Play for playing Essie Carmichael in You Can't Take It With You. Tony Award-winning actress Annaleigh Ashford spent her time working with some of the most acclaimed actors and directors across theatre and on television. she is continuing her award-winning collaboration with a variety of upcoming projects. Ashford will be next seen alongside Kumail Nannjiani on Robert Siegel's Hulu Limited series Welcome to Chippendales premiering November 22. Ashford currently works in Searchlight Pictures' horror thriller Dust opposite Sarah Paulson, Ebon Moss Bachrach and Ebon Mosch Bachrach. The film will stream through Disney's DTC platforms and will be available as a Hulu Original. It will be released in 2023, March. Ashford returns to Broadway and play alongside Josh Groban in the revival of Stephen Sondheim's Sweeney Todd at the Lunt-Fontanne Theatre. Thomas Kail, director and producer of Hamilton will direct the production. Ashford's most recent performance was Paula Jones on Ryan Murphy FX's American Crime Story Impeachment. The series is based on a National scandal that featured Paula Jones Monica Lewinsky, as well as Linda Tripp. She was the star of two seasons of CBS Comedy B Positive. The show was created by Marco Pennette and Chuck Lorre the show also starred famous actor Linda Lavin Hector Elizondo and Ben Vereen.No new to Broadway Ashford has won Tony Drama Desk and Outer Critics Circle Awards for her role as Essie in You Can't Take It with You. Some other Broadway roles for Ashford include Sunday in the Park, with George Wicked legally Blonde, and the role of Lauren as Lauren in Kinky Boots. For this performance she received a Tony Award nomination. Ashford is a Denver origins native, and now splits her time in Los Angeles.
